A2 and BTEC Level Examination Results 2018 - success stories & pictures
This year the staff at Holy Trinity Church of England Secondary School are celebrating with their students the many individual success stories that results day has brought. Top achievers include:
* Elizabeth Bennett who has achieved her ambition of going on to read Physics and Philosophy at Oxford, having achieved outstanding results A*A*A*A and an A* in her Extended Project.
* Avinash Mandala (AAB) and Joe Woollard (ABB) who are both following their dream of progressing to study medicine at Southampton and Exeter respectively.
* Jack Lyon achieved a superb set of results (A*AA) and is going on to read Electronic Engineering at the University of Southampton.
Many of our students have also achieved excellent results; including a number who have far exceeded their targets. Students are progressing to a wide range of universities, many of which are within the Russell group, and they will be reading a number of subjects; including Law, Theology, History, Engineering and English. In addition, three students have successfully achieved places on midwifery courses.
A continuing strength of the HTS Sixth Form provision is the high achievement of students on Vocational courses. In particular Travel and Tourism, Business Studies, BTEC Sport and BTEC Science, which have all delivered strong results. A new course, introduced two years ago, is RSL Music and these students have performed exceptionally well. We are delighted that Crawley Town Community Foundation have achieved their first set of results with us and congratulate them on their success.
Headteacher, Rev Chrissie Millwood said ‘There have been many individual success stories today, and underlying these is the hard work and commitment on the part of the students and the staff themselves. For a number of the students this success has been against the backdrop of considerable personal challenges and I am extremely proud of all that the students have achieved. It is wonderful to see that the vast majority of the students who have chosen to progress to further study have achieved a place at their chosen university. Others are going on to a range of exciting opportunities in the world of work, which these results have made possible for them. I wish them all every success in the future.’
